Changes to Discretionary Benefits: The Ontario Government will place a cap on the amount of money the province will provide to municipalities in order to fund discretionary benefits for Ontario Works and the Ontario Disability Support Program. These changes will take effect for July 2012, but the city has agreed to cover the costs of maintaining these benefits until the end of 2012.

Employment Advocates Receive Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medals (Community Living Ontario):  
Champions of meaningful employment for people who live with an intellectual disability were among the Ontario residents honoured on June 18th with Queen's Diamond Jubilee medals. The medal is to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians who have made significant contributions to their fellow countrymen, their community, or to Canada over the previous sixty years.

This Just In...the Ontario Self-Advocates 5th Advocacy Conference is Slated for October
12 - 14, 2012 (Community Living Ontario): With keynote speaker Jeff Preston, blogger of Mobilize March, this year's event will includes sessions on public speaking, advocacy and human rights. The conference also includes lots of opportunites to socialize and dance!

Upcoming Workplace Inclusion Conference: Diversity Inelligence will host this conference on September 20 - 21, 2012 to help further equity and inclusion practice for non-profit and public sector organizations.
